A drift can be experienced in everyday life where technology has either made a change by “modernising” the simplicity of manual jobs or has replaced them entirely by automation. In such a scenario, the need for upskilling (upgrading current knowledge) and reskilling (learning new skills) are evident. Moreover, the market is fertile for monetizing the existing skills and learning from like-minded folks at your own pace.

The Kool Stories vision is to provide its users with valuable bite-sized informative content that enables intelligent knowledge sharing, networking and community building.

The sharing of valuable 3-minute audio and video makes content easy-to-understand with a longer retention span. The fast-paced world yearns for easy-to-access know-how content from reliable sources, and we envision our app to become like it.

The primary competitive advantages are the social learning and knowledge-sharing experience and the presence of 100+ skill domains.
Since the current market space is replete with talent looking for a space to showcase their skills, the app becomes a lucrative space to gain an audience and earn.
Kool Stories is a social learning platform focused on microlearning through know-how video and audio content.
The driving force behind Kool Stories is the idea to simplify learning. We do this by the inclusion of the social element into learning. The goal is to facilitate knowledge sharing- making it social, accessible and specialised.

The Problem

The continued success of online learning and social networking has given rise to a disordered web of information, making it difficult for learners to find information and skilled individuals to reach out to the target audience. This is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of responsible skill sharing.
Moreover, 60-80% of the people who start a course on e-learning portals don’t complete it. In fact, lack of interaction with the coach or mentor makes knowledge transfer less engaging and one-sided.
The growth of population and the influence of trends have prompted the global audience to participate in aimless social networking.
By creating a bazaar of people and content, social platforms drive people to spend money to increase their reach and tap their target audience. The only logical thing to fill this gap would be to reduce the extra time people spend searching by delivering valuable and practical knowledge through free categorised content. The content creators or skilled individuals benefit from categorised skill communities to gain audience, visibility and monetise their skill based on the quality content they produce. Statistics suggest that social learning approaches have a 75:1 ROI ratio compared to formal web-based training.
There has been unlimited technological development with robotics and automation, making 1.8 billion at immediate risk to be left behind in the labour market. This shift to digitisation has given rise to an immediate need to reskill and upskill. In such a volatile market, where there is an impending threat of job insecurity, people need a space to market the skills they possess efficiently. On the other hand, people looking for learning opportunities cannot find a suitable mentor or guide.

Our vision is to provide a one-stop solution where skilled people can easily monetise their skills, and learners can find bit-sized educational content with the possibility to dive deep into learning by booking live sessions.

Target Market and Opportunity

The Kool Stories social skill learning app expedites the learning & social media market by infiltrating the digital learning experience with consumable audio and video micro-content. Thereby, our target market also extends to the realms of the social audio/video content market & microlearning market.

Schools are ditching the traditional learning approach. Moreover, training programs conducted primarily for professionals across the globe by multinational companies (MNCs) are empowered with E-learning. The E-learning market size passed USD 250 billion in 2020. The growth is predicted to boom at a CAGR of 21% between 2021 and 2027.

Microlearning is flexible as it imparts knowledge sharing in chunks. In 5 years (2020-2025), the microlearning market is expected to cross US$ 2.7 billion with a CAGR of 13.2%. This boom is directly related to shifting audience preferences for modern cloud-based learning methods, technology imparting simulated learning and flexible learning options.

As a hands-free medium that can keep company throughout the day, audio is a powerful way to reach people. It is a unique way to cut through the visual clutter & increase personalization, convenience, with targeted, meaningful content. An estimated 193 million or 68% of the US 12+ population listens monthly, 1 million more than in 2020.

Being primarily sensory, people consider videos as more exciting and engaging. The digital video content market has the potential to grow by USD 327.19 billion during 2021-2025, & the market’s growth momentum will accelerate at a CAGR of 14.31%.
Social media is the glue that holds the digital world together. Through different social avenues, people fulfil their networking & entertainment needs. Thus, making it a hotspot to trace & tap the needs of the global audience.

The social media market was valued at USD 7.26 billion in 2020 & is expected to reach USD 25.96 billion by 2026, at a CAGR of 23.3% over the forecast period 2021-2026.

We had our first phase of beta launch in August in an environment of 1000 people.

We are currently working on feedback received and we will release the updated app for the second phase of beat launch on 15 December.

icon

We currently have almost 10k early-stage users on queue and we are planning to close 100 agreements for each of the 100 categories on the platform with skilled individuals/content creators.

By the 15 of February(currently we have 15 agreements with skilled individuals for category).

Marketing and Sales Strategy

Our Go to Market strategy is segmented into five sections with Beta launch phase, Soft launch phase and Expansion Plan. We aim to achieve our business milestones through realistically achievable goals in each stage.

The first phase beta launch starts from 15th November 2021 to 15th December 2021. Here, our objective is to extract initial traction. We have streamlined the process by building a partnership network to secure 20 influencer tie-ups per category to achieve our target. Through this process, we expect to acquire 12k audio/video content.

The second phase of the beta launch will commence from 15th December 2021 and last till 15th February 2022. Combining both paid and organic activities, we aim to hit a user acquisition of 10k in this phase. To boost the activities and hit our target user base, we will convert the existing 2000 paid influencers into early app adopters and pilot our current audience base of 10k to drive app downloads.

Once both the beta launch phases are successfully executed, we will initiate the soft launch phase. The goal for the first phase of the soft launch (15th February 2022- 15th May 2022) is to acquire 75k users through paid and organic App Store Optimization (ASO), publicity through press releases, online paid activities and massive content creator campaigns.

The final phase of the soft launch will last from 15th May 2022 to 15th August 2022. The objective is to amass 150k active app users through a good blend of previous activities, influencer campaigns, and in-app referral drives.

The expansion plan will be set in motion with the success of our soft launch. We will aspire to fulfil a mammoth user acquisition of 1M here. With the help of University collaborations, event promotions, brand partnerships, and a combination of all existing activities, our objective is to revolutionize the digital learning sphere with bite-sized audio/video content.
