Our CEO worked with DPSK Ltd, the largest Dominos franchisee with net assets of over £100,000,000 on their balance sheet.
Our Head of marketing worked with Papa Johns.
Our International Development team supporting us has successfully expanded into 26 other countries.
The three co-founders have worked together being a big part of the senior management team for the 12 sites, £10m turnover, 450 employee Partyman group, which operated in the same area. The main franchisor, being the 3rd largest pizza company globally with over 5,500, turned over $5bn in 2019.
A very successful brand, with very successful teams and a pizza grab-and-go concept that has worked in 27 other countries, with a new to the UK grab-and-go pizza concept, with the advantage of extra revenue streams through delivery via Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat.
One of the reasons why we choose Little Caesars, apart from the excellent timing, is they are a family company, not a shareholder owning corporate. This makes them far more employee and charity friendly and the focus is not just on the bottom line but making Little Caesars a success in the UK.
As America’s best value franchise 14 years in a row, Little Caesars in America offer a large Pepperoni Pizza for just $5. We are significantly cheaper than our rivals as we do not have the delivery cost and we offer a single consumer enticing £3-4 lunch box meal deal.

As a group of senior executives that have for many years run a £10m, 450 employee hospitality business, we fully understand the impact of the minimum wage and difficulty of finding employees. We also know finding minimum wage employees that can drive is continuously getting harder. This is far more acute in the pizza delivery business. For Pizza Hut they pay their drivers minimum wage plus £1 per delivery, Dominos is £13-£15 and Papa Johns varies. With the minimum wage increasing significantly but just as importantly the age bracket reducing from 25 years of age to 21; coupled with the lack of minimum wage workers due to Brexit and Covid; Coupled with the increased driving opportunities through Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat and then add in the increased cost of learning to drive and owning a car, availability of delivery drivers is the problem.
This may have been masked slightly as many furloughed workers were available and were happy with the second income stream but by 1st October there will be a significant shortfall in the number of delivery drivers.
Little Caesars is certainly not another Dominos or Papa Johns. In 2018 it sold £3.8bn of food and drink in America and did not hire a single delivery driver. It is a grab and go concept and the worlds largest pizza grab and go concept. The grab and go market is £20bn annually in the UK and the pizza industry is £3.8bn. We are also a value chain and the core of what we sell is great value as opposed to the convenience of what Dominos sells. This is why are target market is lower income individuals that appreciate value, which is very similar to the Partyman companies avatar of a parent with two children, near minimum wage part time job but with a partner on an average salary. We are targeting the minimum wage worker, the student, the unemployed, the OAP and everyone that would shop at Primark, Greggs or Lidl.
The Little Caesars stores, as a grab and go concept, have to be located in high footfall areas, which inevitably have good public transport. Therefore our shop workers do not need to drive. Additionally we are not hiring any delivery drivers and using Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo instead. This means instead of finding the average 3.2 workers per hour needed for just the instore workers at Dominos plus an extra 3 workers per hour delivering the pizza, plus an extra 1 member of staff overseeing all of this, we just need 3.2 workers per hour, none of which have to driver.
Dominos or Papa John stores are located for speed of delivery, our stores are located and have signage for high footfall and people to choose a NON- preordered pizza within 30 seconds of entering. We also have a far better lunch time market as we are much cheaper than Dominos or Pizza hut, there is no preordering needed, you can get a pizza within 30 seconds rather than waiting 30 minutes or more and more importantly, you do not need to find someone else that wants a pizza due to the size and price point, and you can just get a pizza for yourself.
Yet in the evenings we will still compete with the Delivery of Papa Johns and Dominos as instead of Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats being more competition, they are actually a good extra revenue stream, which is why Little Caesars after all these decades are very comfortable in expanding into the UK now.
We will, once funding is secure, open 25 Little Caesars grab and go franchise stores over a five year period in the Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk area. The total number of staff, most of which will be part time, should total just over 300 at the end of year five and we will therefore use a very similar staff structure to our existing model. The operations will be highly governed by the franchise agreement and the six week training for senior management will all be carried out by the main franchisor.
Advertising is the second most important factor after staffing and in addition to the minimum spend, we will spend an additional 2% of turnover on advertising as per our experience at Papa Johns and Dominos, you cannot operate a pizza company without a good advertising budget, great marketing staff and a constant stream of advertising.
Globally we are the number one pizza grab-and-go concept.
In 2019, i.e., pre-covid, there was $5bn of annual sales. The international development team that will oversee the UK expansion has previously successfully entered Mexico, India, Spain, Colombia, Egypt, Singapore, and Chile.
The management team overseeing this and the CEO, who is putting £100,000 of his own money in a first in last out basis, have run a £10m turnover, 450 employees 12 site hospitality business with kitchens selling food in each site, in a similar geographical area to a very similar customer demographic.
They had spent one and a half years market researching this current expansion but more importantly carried out previous research regarding expanding into the UK and did not as they did not believe the expansion would work pre-Deliveroo and when delivery drivers were cheaper and more plentiful.
After staffing Marketing and advertising is key. This has to be broken up into local advertising and brand building marketing. 1% of our turnover will contribute to national brand marketing and the digital aspects of our marketing will be centralised through a single website run by the main franchisee. The text message marketing, national campaigns, facebook and other social media will all be via the main franchisor.
We will concentrate on local advertising, such as leafleting, billboards, local radio, providing free pizza to groups, organising the grand openings and boosting the local knowledge aimed at people knowing where our stores are based and then getting repeat custom.
Repeat custom is the key and we have the huge advantage of being able to speak to our customers face to face and gain that relationship.
